Paraguay Women

The side came together late by the standards of the region: its first match was played on 1 March 1998 against Uruguay at the South American Women's Football Championship in Mar del Plata, a game Paraguay won 3-2. Las Guaraníes , as they are known after the country's indigenous people, or La Albirroja for the white and red of the flag, have built their record since largely away from home, since national sides do not keep a single ground of their own. When they do play in Asunción, it is usually at the Estadio Defensores del Chaco; training and development work now runs through CARFEM, a facility built specifically for women's football that opened in Ypané in 2022.

Continental football has given them their best moments.
