Redlands United

Football on the bay side of Brisbane began with a pitch at Cleveland Point. It stayed on that ground until the 1960s, when it moved inland to the old Showgrounds — the same patch of grass, since renamed Compass Grounds and Arthur & Allan Morris Field.

The modern club took shape only in 2010, when Redlands merged with the Queensland State League side Redland City Devils and stepped up into the top division of the Brisbane Premier League. A licence for the new National Premier Leagues competition in Queensland followed in 2013.

Then came 2016. In the FFA Cup, Redlands were drawn against Adelaide United, the reigning A-League champions, and beat them. The same season ended with the NPL Queensland title.

The fixtures that fill the ground are closer to home: Capalaba in the Bayside Derby, Wynnum Wolves down the road, and Gold Coast Knights when the draw allows.
