Sampaio Correa FE U20

Sampaio Corrêa arrived in the top flight of Rio de Janeiro football only after climbing through it, and the medal from 2025 sits at the top of the cabinet for a reason: the club won the Taça Rio that year, a title that followed the promotion earned in 2023 through the Campeonato Carioca Série A2. Before that step up came the Série B1, the third tier of the state championship, taken in 2009, and a Torneio Interior title in 2015.

The club plays out of Saquarema, on the Rio de Janeiro coast, and carries no connection to the better-known Sampaio Corrêa of São Luís in Maranhão beyond the shared name. It was founded on 20 February 2006, and its colours are blue and yellow.

Home matches are played at the Estádio Lourival Gomes de Almeida, known locally as Lourivaldão, which holds 4,284 after work carried out on the ground in 2025. There is no official club website; news and match updates go out through Instagram and Facebook instead.

The under-20 side, which plays in the Carioca U20 competition, feeds the same structure that has carried the senior team from the third division to the state's top table inside two decades.
