The bad blood with Fairfield Bulls — now Bulls FC Academy — goes back to a joint venture that fell apart between 2012 and 2014, which is roughly as long as SD Raiders have existed at all. The club came out of the Southern Districts Soccer Football Association in 2012, set up to give the association's players a route into the National Premier Leagues structure in New South Wales, with the U20 side slotting into the NPL U20 competition.

Home is Ernie Smith Reserve in Moorebank, a ground for 1,000.

The senior team has never won an NPL NSW title. Then came the 2025 Hahn Australia Cup. The Raiders knocked out three NPL sides — Blacktown City, Rockdale Ilinden and Wollongong Wolves — to reach the Round of 32 and a tie with Macarthur FC.

Nick Carle works as technical director and oversees the pathway that carries players from the association's junior ranks through the U20 side.

Beyond the Bulls, the fixtures that carry weight are the local ones: Mounties Wanderers and the other South West Sydney clubs. Nobody has given those meetings a name. They do not need one.
