UJ Krakow Women

Ninth of twelve in the Ekstraliga last season is not where the Kraków side has spent most of its recent history, and it leaves them a good distance from the fourth place they took in 2019/20. Promotion had come from winning the I liga in 2015/16, and the club has been in the top flight since 2013.

The side grew out of an arrangement between the Jagiellonian University's academic sports association and Bronowianka Kraków, put together in 2011. The women's football section is the recent part; the AZS organisation behind it dates to 15 August 1909. In December 2023 the club reorganised and became KS UJ Kraków, having played until then as AZS UJ. Supporters and the local press still use Jagiellonki.

The trophies are not in eleven-a-side football. In the outdoor game the furthest the club has gone is the Polish Cup semi-final in 2016/17. Indoors it is a different record: five Polish futsal championships, in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021, with the futsal Polish Cup added in 2019.

Home matches are played at the Władysław Kawula Municipal Stadium in Prądnik Czerwony, rebuilt between 2016 and 2019. The club plays in green shirts with blue shorts, white on the road, and carries two crests rather than one: the university's gold sceptres on a blue shield beneath a crown, and the association's white griffin on green.

Kraków has no women's derby to offer them. UJ is the city's only side in the top division, so the nearest league opponent is a train journey away.
