Kyiv, June 2009: three points from the group stage of the UEFA Women's Euro in Finland. The team went into that tournament ranked 16th in the world, its highest position ever.

The side answers to the Ukrainian Association of Football. It has never reached a FIFA Women's World Cup finals. The one trophy on record dates to 2012, when the team took the Fair Play Cup rather than a competition proper — an award for conduct, not results.

Two names carry the record books. Lyudmyla Pekur played 110 times between 1997 and 2016, spanning nearly two decades of the team's history. Daryna Apanashchenko scored 67 goals in 155 appearances. Olena Khodyreva captains the current squad.

Matches are shared between two Kyiv grounds: the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium, with room for 16,873, and the smaller Bannikov Stadium. Neither belongs to the women's team alone.

Yellow at home, blue away, the same as the flag.
