Yaypan

Rashid Gofurov took over a squad that, on paper, did not exist a year earlier. The team he now coaches was rebuilt in 2025 by the Fergana region's football association, an initiative pushed through by the region's hokim, Khayrulla Bozorov, on the ground left behind by a club called Turon, which had stopped operating.

The name Yaypan is new; the record underneath it is not. As Turon Yaypan, the club won the Uzbekistan Pro League in 2020 and went up into the Superleague. It stayed there for three seasons — 2021, 2022 and 2023 — before going back down at the end of the last one. The shell sat empty after that until the 2025 rebuild, and Yaypan returned to the Pro League this season, playing out of O‘zbekiston Stadioni, which holds 8,000, and currently sit ninth in the table.

Fixtures against Neftchi Fergana are marked out from the rest of the calendar: the two sides meet in what is known locally as the Valley Derby.

Up front, Navruzbek Imindjonov is the player supporters have come to know first, the forward Gofurov builds the attack around as the club tries to find its footing back in the division it once used as a launching pad.
