Aargau Ost Women

Two years after Aargau Ost dropped out of the top flight, the celebrations at the GoEasy Arena in Siggenthal-Station carried the sense of a debt repaid: the women's side had gone down in 2022, come straight back up in 2023, and by the summer of 2025 had climbed all the way into the Premium League 1 for the first time in its history.

The team itself is a patchwork by design. HSG Aargau Ost fields players drawn from more than a dozen member clubs across the canton, from STV Baden and Vom Stein Baden to smaller outfits such as Handball Würenlingen and Handball Brugg. The blue and black shirt is shared property in that sense, and the derby against HSC Suhr Aarau, the Aargauer Derby, is the one fixture where that regional identity is sharpest.

Promotion arrived as the old guard left it. Underneath them, the pipeline has already produced a national title: the U15s beat Kadetten Schaffhausen to win the Swiss Youth Championship in 2021.

What the club has not done is win anything at senior level. No Swiss Championship, no Swiss Cup — for now, Aargau Ost's business in the top division is simply staying there.
