Trogir needed only one visit to the regional cup this season to end Ardiaei's run there, winning 29:38 and sending the Croatians out in the round of sixteen. It was a small setback for a side that, in the same period, had just finished climbing from Croatia's third tier to the top flight in five years.

That climb started in Čibača, a settlement in Župa dubrovačka, where the club was founded in 2021. The first senior season already brought a title: champions of 2. HRL – Jug in 2021/22. Three years later they were runners-up in 1. HRL – Jug, and in 2025/26 they won that division outright, securing promotion to the Premijer liga.

The headquarters moved to Dubrovnik in 2024, and the team now plays at Športska dvorana Gospino polje, a hall that holds around 1,500 in its main section. The nickname, Zupa Warriors, still points back to Župa dubrovačka rather than to the city the club now calls home.

Ardiaei has not yet gone deep in the Croatian Cup, its best run stopping at the last sixteen, but the promotion secured this year is the mark by which the club is known: a team that went from a third-tier debut to the country's top division inside half a decade.
