«Chernomorochka»
In its first season in senior competition, Chernomorochka reached the match for the Russian Super League bronze medal and lost it to Astrakhanochka, finishing fourth. The club was two years old at the time.
Sergei Shishkarev set up the team in 2022, giving Novorossiysk its first professional women's handball side. From that opening near-miss it went on to reach the Final Four of the Russian Cup in 2024/2025, where it won the bronze medal.
The scoring load in that debut campaign fell largely on Natalia Nikitina, the team's captain, who finished the 2023/2024 Super League season as its top scorer with 261 goals. Alexey Gumyanov took over as head coach in 2023, succeeding Sergei Matyazh, who had built the side from its first matches.
Home games are watched from close range: the Gandbol-Arena in Novorossiysk holds 250 people. The club's beach handball section has already gone further than the indoor team, taking silver at the Russian Championship in 2024.
A Super League medal is what has eluded Chernomorochka so far: after that fourth-place debut, league form has drifted rather than climbed.
