«Don Beauties»
Away trips to Astrakhan carry a different weight for Rostov-Don than most fixtures on the calendar: the meetings with Astrakhanochka are treated as a derby.
That dominance runs deep. Founded in 1965 and known as Rostselmash until a 2002 rename, the club is known as the "Don Beauties". Domestically the record is impressive: Russian Cup titles have come in twelve different seasons, and the Super League has been won as recently as 2026. Continental success has been rarer but sharper — the Women's EHF Cup in 2016–17, and a EHF Champions League final reached in 2018–19 after a fourth-place finish the year before.
Anna Sen wears the captain's armband for a squad that also carries Anna Vyakhireva. Irina Dibirova has run the team since 2023.
The Rostov-on-Don Sports Palace, holding 3,000 to 4,000 people, sat empty of the club for a stretch after 2022, when reconstruction pushed matches out to the smaller Indoor Football Arena of the Rostov Regional Olympic Reserve School.
