Bayview Stadium holds 1,980 people, and there is no terracing left in it — every one of those seats is exactly that, a seat, which says something about the scale of the club that plays there. It stands in Methil, on the Fife coast, the town East Fife have called home since the club was formed in 1903.

The strip was white and green in those first years. That changed in 1911, when the club became a limited company and switched to black and gold, the colours the Fifers — their long-standing nickname — have kept ever since.

The trophy case belongs mostly to the 1940s and early 1950s. East Fife won the Scottish Cup in 1938, having lost finals either side of it, in 1927 and 1950, but the run that set them apart came in the League Cup: three wins, in 1947-48, 1949-50 and 1953-54, the first time any club had lifted that trophy three times over. The last of those came while East Fife sat outside the top flight, the first side to take the League Cup from there. A Second Division championship followed the first of the three, also in 1947-48. Promotions arrived again more recently, out of League Two in 2007-08 and 2015-16.

The ground has stayed the same scale through all of it: a compact stand of seats in Methil, home to the Fifers through the cup wins and the promotions alike.
