Ski Elite — Tromso: 4:1, 1. divisjon

Ski Elit and Tromsø met in the 1st division on Thursday evening, the opening fixture of the new season. The hosts ran out 4-1 winners at home, taking maximum points from the opening round.

With both sides having played just once, the table sits empty of meaning — one win, one loss, zero points each. What matters is the result itself: Ski Elit started with authority after a difficult period.

The visitors had looked lively recently, picking up wins against Kongsvinger and Viking Bergen, but they found no answer to a Ski Elit side that switched off at the back early on. Tromsø were out of sight by half-time.

We had given a home win as our call, 63 per cent confidence, and the match followed that reading. Ski Elit should have too much for them in this division, and they made it clear from the outset.

The result moves Ski Elit to the top of the standings while Tromsø drop to eighth. One point separates any two sides at this stage, but the gap in quality showed plainly on the pitch.
