Strømmen started brighter, with M. Johnsen opening the scoring in the twenty-eighth minute. O. Holden pulled them level just three minutes later, and the home side held their nerve until the break. By then the match had settled into a pattern both teams recognised well enough.
Ranheim turned the corner after the restart. A. Fossli put them ahead in the fiftieth minute, and L. Fajfric sealed it from the spot after seventy minutes. Strømmen had thrown everything forward but found themselves exposed down the sides. The away end never stopped.
