Hasan Desheshku

Austria had never reached the final of a FIFA U-17 World Cup before Qatar in 2025. Hasan Desheshku scored six goals across 13 competitive matches on the way there, among them the opening goal against England in the round of 16 and a goal against New Zealand in the group stage. Austria lost the final and finished as runners-up.

Desheshku came through the Austria Wien academy and won the Austrian Youth League at two age groups: the U16 title in 2023–24, then the U18 title in 2024–25. He also spent that season with the reserve side, Austria Wien II, in the Regionalliga East, and was part of the squad that won promotion to the 2. Liga. He stayed with the reserves through 2025–26, scoring six goals in 26 appearances, before moving up to the senior squad for 2026–27.

He is a left-footed forward who has been used as a striker and on the right wing. For the Austria U17 side he scored seven goals in 19 appearances up to March 2026.

The step up to senior football has been gradual. Desheshku made two Austrian Bundesliga appearances in August 2026, both from the bench, without a goal or an assist. He also came on as a substitute in Austria Wien's UEFA Conference League qualifying ties, including the match against Beitar Jerusalem. As of August 2026 he had not been called up to the senior national team.
