Mirko Kos

Mirko Kos has spent his whole senior career in one place. He joined the Austria Wien academy from Kapfenberger SV in 2012 and came up through the youth setup, then spent seven years with the reserve side, Austria Wien II, from 2015 to 2022 while attached to the first-team squad from 2017.

His debut for the senior side came on 7 April 2020, in a 1–0 win over Mattersburg. It remains the clearest marker in a career built mostly around waiting: Kos has served as a reserve goalkeeper, starting occasionally in the Austrian Cup when the first-choice keepers were unavailable. Those cup outings have given him his deepest runs with the club. Austria Wien reached the quarter-finals of the 2023–24 Austrian Cup, where Sturm Graz put them out, and went a round further in 2024–25 before losing to TSV Hartberg in the semi-finals.

He has not left for another senior club, and no transfer fee has been paid for him. Neither has he collected a trophy with the first team — no Austrian Cup, no Supercup — across his years in the squad. When Austria Wien won the Austrian Bundesliga in 2012–13, Kos was in the youth and reserve setup rather than the senior squad, and he is not credited with that title.

He is from Mürzzuschlag and has yet to appear for the Austrian senior national team.
