Black Knights

Army Black Knights football now plays in the American Athletic Conference, which the team won outright in 2024 under head coach Jeff Monken. The following autumn closed with a win in the Fenway Bowl.

The team belongs to the United States Military Academy at West Point, and its players are cadets. The rivalry that still shapes every season began on the field itself: Army's first game, on 29 November 1890, ended in a 24–0 loss to Navy, and the Army–Navy Game has been played for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy ever since.

The high point came under Earl "Red" Blaik. In 1944 Army went 9–0 and outscored opponents 504–35; two years later, at Yankee Stadium, a 0–0 draw with second-ranked Notre Dame ended a 25-game winning streak.

Michie Stadium, the team's home in West Point, has been under renovation: capacity dropped to 30,000 for the 2024 and 2025 seasons and is due to return to roughly 36,000 once the work is complete.

The 2024 conference title is the closest the program has come since.
