Every Valdifiemme season is measured against HC Fassa, the club from the next valley over.
The club was founded in 1956 as Unione Sportiva Latemar in Cavalese.
The best of it came in the late 1980s, when the club, then playing as Fiemme Cavalese, spent seven straight seasons in Serie A from 1987–88 through 1993–94, finishing ninth each year. More recently, in 2016–17, Valdifiemme reached the final of the Italian Cup and finished runner-up.
The Wolves, as they're known locally, now play in the Italian Hockey League, still carrying the yellow and black of Cavalese.
