The second half brought the action, beginning with E. Ocampo's introduction for Kolecas in the 46th minute. F. Rivero equalised for Patronato from the spot in the 49th minute before M. Albertengo restored the hosts' advantage in the 64th. The pattern repeated when W. Rueda struck in the 70th, leaving both teams to scramble for a winner. By then, the game had settled into something more about survival than ambition.
Substitutions came thick and fast in the closing stages. Kolecas brought on five players, including R. E. Monserrat and A. Miro, while Patronato made fewer changes but won a yellow card for Rivero in the 79th and saw S. Piccioni cautioned in the 88th. A late booking in stoppage time added to the tension without changing the outcome.
Kolecas dominated possession at 52 per cent and registered 174 attacks compared to Patronato's 148. The hosts were sharper in front of goal, hitting 75 per cent accuracy with three shots on target, while the visitors managed 50 per cent accuracy from four attempts. Patronato earned more corners and free kicks but could not convert their numerical advantage into a win.
The result leaves Kolecas on 37 points, eight ahead of Patronato who sit on 29. Both sides have played the same number of games, and the gap will either widen or close depending on how this momentum carries through the next round.
