Dukla Banska Bystrica and Komarno drew 2:2 in the Superliga regular season sixth round at SNP Stadium on Saturday evening. The result keeps both sides in the bottom half of the table after six matches. To be fair, neither side had much to celebrate before kick-off.
Jakub Sylvestr gave Komarno the lead in the 38th minute, his first goal of the campaign. Robert Polievka responded with an equaliser just 60 seconds later, ending a barren spell for the hosts. He had been waiting for his breakthrough.
Polievka struck again in the 46th minute to put Dukla ahead, but Dominik Zak converted a penalty in the 82nd to salvage a point for Komarno. The visitors had been searching for their first win all season.
Komarno controlled possession at 67 per cent but Dukla were more efficient in front of goal. The hosts created only one big chance compared to three for the visitors, yet converted their opportunities. And here's the thing, efficiency matters more than territory.
Dukla remain tenth with four points after one victory and one draw. Komarno sit eleventh with three points from three draws, still without a win. The draw brought them together early in the table fight.
