Discipline became an issue in the closing stages. Furkan Dursun received a yellow card for Thun in the 63rd minute, and four more bookings followed before the final whistle. Nassim Zoukit, Abdou Karim Sow and Fabio Fehr all went into the referee's book as the match grew ragged. By then, nobody had much to play for.
The result maintains the gap between these two sides in the table. Thun sit one point ahead of Lausanne, though they have a game in hand. The visitors have drawn three of their six matches, showing they can grind out results even when not at their best. Cup football has its own rules, but this was league football where points matter equally.
