Zurich claimed a 3-2 victory over Lausanne at the Stade de la Tuilerie in the Swiss Super League's fifth round of matches on Friday evening. The away side took the lead twice through Bledian Krasniqi and Omar Janneh, but Lindrit Kamberi's effort for the hosts kept things lively until Umeh Emmanuel sealed the win late on.
Enzo Molebe opened the scoring in the thirty-first minute, giving Lausanne an early advantage. Krasniqi equalised shortly after the interval in the forty-seventh, and Kamberi restored the home side's lead in the fifty-eighth. Janneh's strike in the seventy-third put the visitors ahead for good, and Emmanuel added a fifth goal in the eighty-first to close the game out.
Lausanne controlled possession at 57 per cent and registered more attacks, yet Zurich were more clinical with their chances. The hosts created three big opportunities but managed only three shots on target from eight attempts, while the visitors converted four of their six shots on target. To be fair, the away side's efficiency made the difference in a match decided by moments rather than dominance.
Five substitutions were made across the second half, with Tyler Fredricson and Alexander Hack brought on for Zurich in the fifty-fourth and seventy-sixth minutes respectively. Yellow cards accumulated toward the end, with Brandon Soppy, Alexander Hack, Kevin Spadanuda and Chris Kablan all cautioned, alongside Dircssi Ngonzo for the hosts.
The result leaves Zurich six points clear after five games, while Lausanne remain on five points in seventh. Both sides enter the next round with momentum shifting — the visitors have nothing to lose in their approach, and the home side will look to build on what they showed despite the outcome.
