Prishtina e Re edged past Istogu 1:0 in the third round of Liga 2 on Sunday. R. Nimani's second-half strike proved enough for the home side, who improved on two opening defeats. The result marked their first point of the campaign.
The match turned early when Shala received a yellow card in the 20th minute and was dismissed moments later. The home side had to play with ten men for nearly seventy minutes. Istogu equalised in numbers but struggled to carve them open.
Istogu's defence tightened after the red card, though H. Berisha also went off with a second yellow in the 80th minute. E. Miranaj added a third red card for the visitors in stoppage time, leaving them with just nine men. The goalless run continued despite the numerical advantage.
Prishtina e Re moved off the bottom of the table with three points. Istogu remained in 11th place with three points after two matches. Both sides still have room to improve before the season settles.
