Brønne claimed a 2-0 victory against Sogndal in the First Division, Regular Season round 17 on 9 August 2026. The away side took the lead through K. Haland in the 36th minute, then sealed the result late on when N. Strunck found the net in stoppage time.
By then Sogndal had already seen M. Hoyland receive a yellow card in the 20th minute, and K. Hay followed in the 28th. The hosts pushed for an equaliser but their shots went astray — ten off target against just two on target.
The game turned when Brønne doubled their advantage. Strunck's goal came in the 90th minute plus five, after P. A. Wik had been booked in the 71st. L. Sodal picked up a yellow card in the 91st as Sogndal searched for a way back into the match.
Statistics tell a mixed story. Sogndal held 51 per cent possession and registered 93 attacks, yet managed only two shots on target. Brønne, with 49 per cent possession, converted five of their 12 attempts on target into genuine trouble.
The result leaves Sogndal in 14th place with 22 points from 21 games — six wins, four draws and 11 defeats. Brønne sit seventh with 29 points, nine victories, two draws and ten losses, and now extend their gap over the hosts.
