Fodé Sylla arrived at RC Lens as an eight-year-old, moving from Roubaix Omnisports in 2014 and spending more than a decade in the club's academy before it produced a professional contract. When his contract ran out, Sylla joined FC Sion on a free transfer in July 2026, signing terms that run for five years.

The defensive midfielder has built his profile almost entirely through France's youth ranks. He made his France under-16 debut in 2021 and went on to collect 11 caps at that level, followed by 17 appearances and a goal for the under-17s across 2022 and 2023. He then stepped up to the under-18s, playing 11 times, before adding 11 caps and a goal for the under-19s in 2024 and 2025. His most recent involvement has come with the under-20 side, for whom he has made seven appearances since 2025. None of that international experience has yet extended to senior level.
