About the player
Jhonata Robert made his mark on his professional debut for Grêmio, scoring in a 2–1 win over Internacional. A long-range strike against São Paulo in December 2021 was later shortlisted as a finalist for the Bola de Prata. 2023 was wiped out entirely by a serious knee injury.
He had come through the Grêmio academy after arriving on loan from Barra Futebol Clube in his native Santa Catarina, where he had first played as a teenager. He made 20 appearances in the Primeira Liga with Famalicão.
He left Grêmio in 2024 and signed for Criciúma as a free agent. Under coach Eduardo Baptista he has established himself as a regular starter, striking up a partnership with Luiz Henrique, and by September 2025 had scored five goals and set up three more in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The club rewarded that form with a contract renewal extending his stay to the end of 2026.
