About the player
Leandro Schödler came up through FC Zürich's own academy after starting out at FC Windisch and FC Red Star ZH. He worked through the club's youth sides and, on the third-tier ladder, played for FC Zürich U20 and FC Zürich II before a promotion to the senior squad for the 2025–2026 season. There was no transfer fee involved — the move came entirely from within the club, and he signed a contract running to 2031.
A right-footed defender who stands 191 cm tall, Schödler is also used at times as a defensive midfielder. He wears the number 21 shirt for FC Zürich.
At international level, he has represented Switzerland at under-20 level, picking up caps in the U20 Elite League. He has not yet been called into the senior Swiss squad.
By the 2026–2027 season he had made several appearances for FC Zürich's first team in the Swiss Super League, though the club were well off the pace, finishing ninth. He joined the senior group too late to have any part in FC Zürich's Super League title of 2021–22 or their Swiss Cup wins.
