About the player
Mohamed Bangoura Born in the Guinean capital, he started out at Atouga Foot before moving to the 36 Lion FC academy in Nigeria in 2023, where he spent roughly two years developing as a midfielder. It was at the Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup in May 2024 that FC Zurich scouts picked him out.
Bangoura officially joined FC Zurich on 30 July 2024, putting pen to paper on a contract running until June 2027 with two further one-year options attached. The move from 36 Lion FC came for an undisclosed fee.
He has yet to make a senior appearance for Guinea, though he remains part of the country's U20 setup. At club level, his time at FC Zurich is still in its early stages, with no senior titles or individual honours to his name so far.
