Tahith Jose Chong

Curaçao runs deep in Chong's story: born in Willemstad, he made his senior international debut only in August 2025, in a goalless draw against Trinidad and Tobago. Manchester United signed him in 2016, and before he had made a senior appearance he had already collected the club's Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award and, the following season, the Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year prize. His first-team debut came in January 2019, in an FA Cup tie against Reading. A cruciate ligament injury in 2017 had already interrupted his early progress, and the years after his debut were spent almost entirely away from Manchester, on loan at Werder Bremen, then Club Brugge, then Birmingham City.

Birmingham made the Birmingham City move permanent in 2022, and by the summer of 2023 Chong had moved on again, to Luton Town. It was there, in November 2023, that he scored his first Premier League goal, against Liverpool. His time at Luton was not without setbacks: in September 2024 he suffered a head injury in a match against Plymouth Argyle.

Since committing to Curaçao internationally, Chong has become a regular scorer for the side rather than just a squad member: a brace against Bermuda in September 2025 and a further goal against Scotland in May 2026 have taken him to nine caps and three goals for his country. He plays as a left-footed attacking midfielder.
