About the player
Takuma Ominami joined Júbilo Iwata straight from Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School in 2016. He spent four seasons there before a move to Kashiwa Reysol in 2020. He made 77 league appearances and five goals as a centre-back over three years. That form took him to Kawasaki Frontale in 2023, where he won the Emperor's Cup the same year.
He moved to Belgium in 2024, joining OH Leuven on loan from Kawasaki Frontale. He made 24 league appearances in his first season there, scoring once, and the club converted the loan into a permanent deal in 2025. He went on to make 22 appearances the following season before a transfer to V-Varen Nagasaki.
Internationally, Ominami was part of the Japan under-23 side that won silver at the 2018 Asian Games. He had to wait until July 2022 for his senior debut, coming on against Hong Kong at the EAFF E-1 Football Championship, a match Japan won.
