About the player
Wu Zitong came through the Evergrande Football School in Guangzhou before earning a place in the first-team squad at Guangzhou FC in early 2024. He made his professional debut for the club on 16 June 2024, starting against Yanbian Longding, and went on to make four appearances that season.
On 26 January 2025, Wu moved to Chongqing Tongliang Long as a free agent. He has yet to add a major title or individual award to his record; during Guangzhou FC's most successful years the club won its domestic double while he was still working through the youth and reserve ranks, and his rise to first-team football came only after that period had passed.
