Batumi

Batumi sits on the Black Sea, and the club took shape there.

It was under the Datvebi name that the club won its first Didi 10 title, in 1998-99, and added a second three years later. The double came in 2002, when the Cup was secured with a 15-9 win over Lelo Tbilisi, a year after the trophy had arrived by walkover following a forfeit by Lokomotiv Tbilisi. The championship has since returned three more times, in 2018-19, 2021-22 and 2024-25, though the years in between brought their share of near misses: finals lost in 2009, 2016-17, 2020-21 and 2022-23.

Matches against Black Lion Tbilisi carry the weight of the Georgian Derby, while Lelo Saracens provide the other fixture the city marks on its calendar.

The Batumi Rugby Stadium, at the corner of Leonidze Street and General Abashidze Street, holds 2,484 and has stayed the club's home through every change of name.
