Busan I Park

In 1986 the club, then playing as Daewoo Royals, won the Asian Club Championship, and later that year added the Afro-Asian Club Championship. Having begun in 1979 as a works team at the car maker Saehan Motors and passed to Daewoo after a merger the following year.

Localisation policy made it Pusan Daewoo Royals in 1996; in 2000 the Hyundai Development Company took over, brought in the name i.cons and swapped the home shirts from blue to red. Apostrophes came and went — I'Cons, I'Park — until 2012, when the club settled on Busan IPark.

The one addition since is the FA Cup of 2004.

Ahn Jung-hwan played here between 1998 and 2002, and again in 2008; the golden goal he scored against Italy at the 2002 World Cup was struck in national colours. Park Jong-woo captained the side across two spells, from 2005 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2021.
