Dabas

There isn't a trophy riding on it, but there rarely needs to be with a neighbour.

Dabas itself has never had much silverware to fight over. In the top-flight Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the club's high point remains an 8th-place finish in the 2021–22 season, reached five years after promotion in 2017–18. The Magyar Kupa has stayed out of reach entirely. What the club has produced instead is a run of players who left a mark before moving on, among them Zlatko Horvat, the Croatian international who topped the scoring charts in 2022–23.

The club's own name has rarely stayed still. Sponsorship has rewritten the sign outside the OBO Aréna repeatedly since the turn of the century, from Dabas SE to Dabas-Diego KC, through Dabas VSE KC and RotaChrom Dabas, to the current Dabasi KC VSE. The arena underneath it all holds 1,920 for handball, a modest ceiling that has stayed constant while the letters above the door kept changing.

None of that touches what the club actually is: a side wearing red and white that goes back to 1980.
