Balatonfuredi

Balatonfüred sits on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, which is part of what makes its handball club stand out locally. Balatonfüredi KSE traces its present form to 1990, though small-court handball had been played in the town since the late 1950s, and the side now competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Hungary's top division.

Matches are played at the Balaton Szabadidő és Konferencia Központ, a hall that seats only 712. In Europe, the club's furthest run took it to the group stage of the EHF European League in 2016–17.

The team is known as the Sárga-Feketék , the Yellow-Blacks, after its colours. Its roster has carried a notably international edge for a club of this size.

The two clubs sit close enough around the lake that their meetings are known simply as the Balatoni rangadó, the Lake Balaton derby, with Csurgói KK and MOL Tatabánya KC supplying the club's other long-standing grudge matches.
