Handschuhsheim

RG Heidelberg, the club across town, meets them in a derby sharpened by the 2008 cup final, when the Löwen needed extra time to see off their neighbours 24–23. Heidelberg TV gave them a wider margin in 2013, beaten 42–10 in another DRV-Pokal final, the third they had won.

That cup is where the club's modern identity sits. Three titles, in 2005, 2008 and 2013, sit against a single national championship from further back, the 1956–57 season, when TSV beat SC Elite Hannover 6–3. The Rugby-Bundesliga itself, running since 1971, has given them two final appearances, in 1978 and 2005, and no title to go with them.

They play as Die Löwen, in blue and white, at the Lionspark am Neckarfeld, a 1,500-capacity ground in the Heidelberg district that gives the club its name.
