The seats at Itstoni Stadium number 1,500, and the ground carries the name of Tony Sharabi, a former player. Marmorek is due to leave the place for a new 6,000-seat Rehovot Stadium from the 2026/2027 season, but for now this is still where the club plays.

Netanel Margalit founded the club in 1949, and it spent its first years in unofficial competitions before entering the league system in 1953. It plays in red and white, in keeping with the wider Hapoel movement, and carries the nickname "Yemeni Aristocracy."

The defining afternoon came in the 1971–72 season, away from home, at Kiryat Eliezer Stadium in Haifa. Marmorek went behind to their neighbourhood rivals Maccabi Sha'arayim in front of more than 10,000 spectators, then turned the game around through a Tony Sharabi brace to win 2–1 and go up to Liga Leumit, the top flight, under coach Yehuda Haddad. The result also denied Sha'arayim their own promotion, which set the tone for the Rehovot Derby ever since. The stay at the top lasted one season before relegation.

Marmorek's other notable run came decades later, when the club won the Toto Cup Alef in 2008–09, beating Hapoel Ashkelon 1–0 in the final at HaBarzel Stadium. The captain that day was Adib Sharabi, Tony's son, and the cup arrived alongside a second promotion to the second tier, again followed by an immediate drop back down.

Away from the pitch, the club has never run its own website, working instead through Facebook and Telegram. Since that Haifa night, Marmorek have gone 53 years without another season in Israeli football's top flight.
