Eighteen Swedish championships is not a tally that happened by accident: since breaking into the top flight in 1991, IK Sävehof's women have turned the SHE final into something closer to a fixture on their own calendar, running through 2022, 2023, 2024 and again in 2026. The Cup came later, and only after they had learned to beat the same opponent twice at the finish line — H65 Höör lost both the 2022–23 and 2023–24 finals to them.

The club itself began as a breakaway. A group of students from Sävedalen split from IK Stratos in 1950, with Gunnar Qvist generally named as the one who pushed the move through. What they built in Partille, just outside Gothenburg, grew lopsided in an interesting way: the men's side has its own championships and a Challenge Cup won in 2013–14, but it is the women who carry the club's name into European handball's record books.

Ida Odén and Jamina Roberts both scored more than 200 goals for Sävehof in the EHF Champions League, numbers that place them among the players other clubs' coaches still plan against.

Partille Arena holds 4,000, modest by continental standards, but it fills for the derby against Onnereds HK, a fixture close enough in geography that both sets of supporters simply call it "derbyt." Lugi HF has become the other name that keeps turning up across recent finals.
