Manisa FK

Bobby Adekanye joined Manisa FK for the 2025–26 season — Kerim Frei, John Mary, Demba Diallo among them. Manisa Belediyespor, the football section of the city's municipal sports club, is where this side started out in 1994, working through the amateur leagues for the better part of two decades before turning professional in the early 2010s.

Promotion came twice inside four years: the Third League title in 2017–18, then the Second League in 2020–21. On 31 July 2019, before that second promotion, the football operation broke away from the municipal body altogether and re-formed as an independent joint-stock company under its current name, Manisa FK.

The city already had a club with a longer memory. Manisaspor, founded in 1965, had drifted down into the amateur ranks by the 2020s, and by late 2024 the two sides were in talks over a merger — the old name and the new structure, under one roof.

Home games are played at the Manisa 19 Mayıs Stadyumu, which holds 16,597, and the black-and-white kit has given the team its shorthand in the local press, Siyah-beyazlılar. The Ege Derbisi ties the club to Altay, Denizlispor and Bodrum FK, three sides drawn from around the same stretch of the Aegean coast.

Adekanye arrives as the newest face in a squad still finding its level in the second tier, following on from players like Diallo, who spent four seasons at the club between 2021 and 2025 — longer than most who have worn the shirt since the club stopped being Belediyespor's football section and became its own thing.
