Klemzig sits in Adelaide's north-east, and the football played there on Fourth Avenue draws on families who arrived from Sicily. The founders took red and yellow from that inheritance, and the shirt still carries yellow stripes down a red front.

The club began in 1994 as Metro Knights. That name did not survive the decade: a clash with Para Hills Knights, and an arrangement with the American side MetroStars, produced North Eastern MetroStars ahead of an invitation into the State League. The MLS club it borrowed from has since become NYCFC.

T.K. Shutter Reserve holds 3,000. The Federation Cup has been the reliable business — seven wins, the last of them in 2025 against Adelaide Croatia Raiders, and a run of finals stretching back to a penalty shoot-out lost to Croydon Kings in 2000.

It came in 2014, decided by a single goal from Christian Esposito against Bonnyrigg White Eagles; he stayed until 2023. Under Danny Graystone, who arrived in 2022 from Melbourne Victory's academy, the club has finished top of the regular season three years running.

Shane Smeltz came through here before becoming the A-League's leading scorer, and James Troisi played in the junior sides before Australia caps.

What is missing is national reach.
