Ostrovets and Molodechno share more than a league. Both wear green and white, both come out of the same corner of the country.
The club itself is young enough that everyone involved remembers the beginning. It started in 2019 as an amateur side attached to the district sport club in Ostrovets, and became a football club proper in January 2020.
Ostrovets played 24 matches, won 23, drew one and lost none, finishing with a goal difference of 169:8. Aleksey Khodnevich scored 59 of those goals, a division record. Promotion followed, and the First League turned out to be a different game: Khodnevich again led the club's scoring in 2022, this time with 8.
The Belarusian Cup has taken them as far as the last 16, in 2023.
