The gap is what Li Chunhao set out to fill in 2022. He had played in Shenzhen's reserve side and later for Baoding Rongda.
The first season was spent in the Shenzhen Super League , the city's own competition, and Zhang Jun's side won it.
In the Chinese Champions League — the fourth tier — Shenzhen Juniors came through the group stage unbeaten and topped Group A in the final round. The decisive tie finished 1:1 across two legs and went to penalties, where they lost 4:5. Second place was enough. It carried them into China League Two , the third division.
The 2024 campaign in League Two leaned heavily on Joel Nouble.
The record for appearances belongs to Xie Baoxian, the central midfielder who was there at the founding and has passed 29 games for the side.
