Julio Ferreira scored the goal that settled the 2010 Copa Venezuela. Trujillanos had drawn the first leg with Zamora FC goalless, and his strike away from home was enough — 1-1 on the night.

That earlier final had taken longer. Trujillanos won 3-1 in Caracas, lost 0-1 at home to Caracas FC, and came through the penalties 3-2.

The club had been put together in Valera by Ramón Salazar and Manuel Mateus, who registered it on 25 August 1981. The city sits in the state of Trujillo and is known locally as the town of seven hills. The home shirt of the 2011-12 season carried that colouring plainly enough: yellow, with a brown band across the upper chest and brown panels down the sides.

The biggest of the three titles came in 2014. Trujillanos went into the last round of the Torneo Apertura needing a result against Petare FC and were 2-0 up when crowd trouble stopped the match; the win was recorded as 3-0. The side finished on 36 points from a possible 51.
