Tsikara

Beka Skhuluaia took Tsikara through two seasons and out of the regional leagues into the First League, then into the Didi 10 itself. He left the job in the summer of 2025, handing it to Giorgi Chincharauli just as the promotion he had earned was about to be tested at the top level.

The promotion itself was not a formality. Tsikara finished third in the First League regular season, then went through the playoffs beating Lokomotivi, Rustavi and Vepkhvebi before closing out the final against Tao, 44-18.

The name comes from the Georgian folk tale of Tsikara and Nikora, in which a bull called Tsikara saves a young boy — though the club has not turned that into any fan nickname that has stuck, and people simply call it Tsikara.

Founded in 2010, the club arrived in the Didi 10 as its youngest member by some distance.

None of that spared them a hard introduction. In their first season in the Didi 10, 2025-2026, Tsikara sat eighth in the table with 31 points, written up in the Georgian press as an outsider and, more than once, as the competition's most mysterious entry. They play their home games at the Avchala Rugby Stadium in Tbilisi, a ground that holds around 2,500. There are no league titles or cup wins yet; for now the job is simply to hold a place in a division.
