A goal was enough. In the last 32 of the Ukrainian Cup in the 2026/27 season, Vilkhivtsi beat Premier League side Chornomorets 1:0 and went through to the last 16.

The village side in the Tiachiv district of Zakarpattia region traces itself to 1969. Third place in the Zakarpattia regional championship in 2019, and the two finals lost the year before that — the regional cup and the regional super cup — were the level the club worked at. National competition came in 2023, in the amateur association's tournament, and admission to the Second League followed in 2024.

Home is the Vilkhivtsi Arena Park, which holds 1,500 — a crowd that would fit several times over into the stands Chornomorets are used to. The yellow shirts and black shorts are the first choice; the change strip is green throughout.

Two league seasons as a professional club have produced seventh place in Group A in 2024/25 and eighth in 2025/26. Oleksandr Hlahola wears the captain's armband, with Dmytro Niemchaninov as his deputy. Neither season brought the club near promotion, and the league table remains the harder of the two problems in front of them; the cup tie in the last 16 is the shorter road.
