Riders Pardubice

Jan Stolín has pulled on the Riders jersey more often than anyone else at the club, 91 games in all, and that number says something about what UPCE Riders Pardubice actually is: a team built not around a transfer market but around who happens to be studying at the University of Pardubice in a given year. The university created the side in 2020 to enter the Czech University Ice Hockey League in its second season, and the students who wear the crest train and play alongside their coursework, under the wing of HC Dynamo Pardubice, the city's Extraliga club, without belonging to its playing staff.

Marek Ladman remains the club's leading scorer with 43 points from 45 games, a mark that has stood through several changes of roster, the natural churn of a university team where players graduate and move on. Martin Matatko is close behind him, and Lukáš Hebek, who came up through Dynamo's youth ranks before finding his way to the Riders, has made 77 appearances.

The Riders have never won the league. Their closest brush with a medal came in the 2025/2026 season, when they reached the elite four and then lost the bronze match, a result that still stands as the best finish in the club's short history. Home games are played in front of up to 10,088 seats at the Enteria Arena, a capacity built for Dynamo's Extraliga crowds rather than university hockey, and against UNIted HK of Hradec Králové the fixture carries enough local weight to be called the East Bohemian derby.

Martin Šejba took over as head coach for the 2026/2027 season, with Eva Nováková running the club as general manager, and Daniel Burda has been the team's top scorer in the current regular season with 20 points, as the Riders try to build on that fourth-place finish rather than settle for it.
