VSE Falcons Prague

VSE Falcons Prague reached their first medal in March 2026, when they beat Riders Univerzita Pardubice 3-2 for bronze in the Univerzitní liga ledního hokeje.

The club traces back to a split. Until December 2023, students from the University of Economics, ČVUT and the Czech University of Life Sciences had shared a single combined side, Engineers Prague. Marek Kosina and Lukáš Vopat broke away to found a team, and Vopat now serves as club president. Their debut season ended in the semifinals, where Black Dogs Budweis stopped them; the bronze medal followed a year later.

Home games are played at ICE Arena Kateřinky, a small rink by any measure — seating estimates from local listings run as low as 150. Franchise numbers so far belong to two players: Michal Daniel leads the club in games, assists and points, while Alen Jurak has scored the most goals.

Instead there is Bitva o Prahu — the Battle of Prague — an annual series pitting the capital's student teams against each other, and it is there that the sharpest matches sit: against Engineers Prague, the very side the Falcons split from, and against UK Kings Prague, representing Charles University. A team born out of one city rivalry now measures itself against the rest of it every year.
