Stabæk moved up the table with a 2:0 win at Raufoss in the First Division's regular round 16 on Saturday. The visitors took control through second-half goals before winding down the match. By then, the result looked comfortable enough.
A. Hoven opened the scoring in the 78th minute after the break, then M. Dahlby added a late finish in 90+1. Raufoss had a yellow card for T. Engebakken in the 34th minute and several substitutions through the second half, but could not break the deadlock. Stabæk brought on J. Skjelvik, E. Sildnes, M. Lundemo, M. Aanesland, S. Gjelsvik and F. Riise across the final 44 minutes.
Stabæk dominated territory with 56 per cent possession against 89 attacks, while Raufoss managed 85 attacks and 44 per cent. The visitors registered six shots on target compared to one for the hosts, and won 13 corners to four. To be fair, Raufoss created something with their attacks, but the difference in accuracy told the story.
The result leaves Stabæk third on 42 points after 21 games, five wins behind the leaders. Raufoss sit 16th with 21 points from five victories and a single draw. The home side's recent run included wins against Moss and Strømmen, but this defeat extends their struggles at this level.
Stabæk end a barren spell in terms of consistency, having lost only once in their last five outings. The gap between the sides in the table now stands at 21 points. What remains is whether Raufoss can find a way to close that distance before the season concludes.
