About the player
Samba Diatara came through the Diambars Academy in Dakar and stayed on with the first team through the CNEPS Excellence. He left as a free agent in September 2024 for SC Braga B, playing in Portugal's Liga 3, where his appearances were limited to three in his first season and one in the next; senior football at Braga never came.
A move to Sweden followed in March 2026, when he joined Degerfors IF on a free transfer and signed through to the end of 2029. Work permit delays kept him out of the season opener against IK Sirius, and his debut had to wait until April, when he started a 0–1 defeat to IF Elfsborg.
By the end of the 2026 season the left-back had made 20 appearances, 18 of them starts, adding a goal and an assist across 1,544 minutes on the pitch. Four yellow cards were the only blemish on a season.
