About the player
Vasyl Kravets left Ukraine as a teenager. Karpaty Lviv brought him through its youth system and gave him his senior debut in 2015, and two years later CD Lugo took him on loan before buying him outright. He stayed in Segunda División until Leganés paid roughly €2.5 million for him in January 2019. He managed a single league start there, against Valencia, and the rest of his Leganés spell was a string of loans: back to Lugo, then to Lech Poznań in Poland, then to Sporting de Gijón, where he finally got regular Segunda División football and scored his first senior goal.
It was during that loan at Gijón, in February 2022, that Kravets made a public statement, saying he was ready to put his career on hold to defend Ukraine against Russia. He returned home in 2022 to sign for Vorskla Poltava, then moved on to Dnipro-1 and Polissya Zhytomyr before joining Metalist 1925 Kharkiv on a free transfer in 2024. There, playing mostly in the Persha Liga, he helped the club win promotion to the Ukrainian Premier League. In 2024 he also survived a car accident in the Rivne region.
He joined Zorya Luhansk on a free transfer this July, signing through 2028.
